Dressings-Film

Film Dressings are transparent and generally made from a thin polymer membrane coated with an adhesive on one side. They are impermeable to fluids and bacteria but allow the wound to 'breathe' as they are permeable to water vapour and air. The dressings are designed to protect the wound from damage and act as a barrier against infection. Being transparent, allows clinicians to observe the wound without removing the dressing.Film dressings are suitable for use on wounds with little or no exudate, minor burns, cuts and grazes.
Not suitable for use on moderate or heavily exuding wounds.
